Halo 3 Beta

After waiting up far too late for Microsoft to fix the problems for Crackdown disc owners, I've finally been putting some time in with the Halo 3 beta.
I have to say moving right from burning through Crackdown to Halo 3 was a bit of a shock. I had gotten used to flying around the city "Matrix Style" so moving back to a first-person "slow" movement shooter made me feel really claustrophobic.
People have been complaining about the graphics, but I don't find them that bad. They certainly aren't a quantum leap from Halo 2, but if you see them side by side you will really notice a difference. The water alone is pretty stunning.

I'm not sure I like what they have done to the Battle Rifle, but I am getting used to it. The other weapons are fairly similar as far as I can tell.
The new vehicle is pretty dumb from my opinion as really I thought it should be faster than the Warthog, but maybe that will change by the time the game is released. The vehicles seem to take a lot of damage compared to Halo 2, but at least they aren't invincible again.
I do wish it was possible to just play with a small group of friends instead of only match making, but I understand that is what they are actually trying to "beta" here, so what can you do.
It has some disappointments, but honestly it has me chomping at the bit for the single player coming soon.
